milapse asked:

I’m back yall! Holidays and vacation on the big island had me all tied up but, I did get some great stuff out there so as always please enjoy!

All this footage was shot with a Ricoh GR which was perfect for travel work. I also hacked together a compact panning system again based on a cheap meade telescope head.

My next video plan is to do a timelapse camera rundown and FAQ since I get so many questions on cameras! Stay tuned for that.

Awesome visuals, as always! BTW, is it me, or are you planning on putting videos up on Stage6? That would be great! We need milapse HDR on HD!!!!

I’m planning on a camera run down so that should answer a lot of questions… I’ll think about a ‘how I do it’ video but, that changes a lot from situation to situation and there are so many good approaches! I hear ya…

Nice series of Hawaii. I like especially when you capture different strata of clouds moving in different directions. Looking forward to your camera review.

liked it when the panning sort of matched the clouds moving so it made them look stationary.

I encoded to divx at 600 or so kbs (i think)… Definately have found that compressing to a small file before uploading gets the best results.

i really like the part with the waves on the beach. The contrast between the patterns the clouds make and the patterns the waves make make it really interesting. the clouds moving over the moon and lapsing into morning is pretty cool too.

Well done, I thoroughly enjoyed. Question though: how do you upload such a long video without horrible compression?

ya, I shot more of that stuff in different ways but it just didn’t make this cut. I’ll try to push the camera FAQ vid… Thanks!
