uh nm the “Yellow Sign” was created in 1989 by Kevin Ross, admittedly a boc fan, so now you know. i guess it is kronos lol

the boc sign is a fictional symbol, or glyph, first described in Robert Chambers’ book of horror short stories entitled The King in Yellow (1895). This was also referenced in the 1976 BOC song “ETI”
the band has no ties to **** germany eric bloom is jewish and so is sandy pearlman. the plane on the cover of secret treaties is a HIJACKED me262

starship—Yeah, but your username goes SO MUCH BETTER with this version. Strap on your headphones, hop on your lunarstarship, and fly into the science of “Astronomy…the Light that never warms…”

I disagree! I myself think that’s is the best part of the song.

The song is beautiful but I prefer
the powerful live version (1978.

I agree it arouses interest but the question still remains: why use the ME-262.

I’m liking a genetically engineered virus that kills Metallica and their fans better.

Why not use an ME-262? Arouses interest, no?

Yes I agree nurse Carrie. They maintained a very esoteric profile with the use of symbols, images and album design covers. But with this album cover featuring a German WWII Me-262 fighter jet one wonders why that particular aircraft was chosen for the album and what message they were sending when the decision was made to use it.

Hey Dreamz—If I’m not mistaken, it was used to continue to build the Cult’s image. Their manager Sandy Pearlman wanted them to been seen as the American Black Sabbath. Listen to the first 3 albums compared to anything they released afterwards, & I think you’ll see it was all about creating a very dark and mysterious image. The songs, their name, the Symbol. There wasn’t even a picture of them until their 4th release.

What do you mean? You speak so obfussactingly in random, generalized terms sure that everyone knows what you mean, I’m isn’t sure if you’re trolling or just being “funnny.”

First BOC song I ever heard-on WPLJ radio in N.Y.

Good tune but I am still at a loss as to why they would have an image of a Messerschmidt 262 jet which was used by the **** German Luftwaffe at the close of the war.

i happen to disagree. i think it adds to the feeling, personally.

Not my most favored track from the album, but still it’s friggid beautiful! I’m not so into these 70es bands but BOC is a BIG expection! In this track I must say that so many good bands will be left unknown to people!
I seriously love that part when they sing loudly ASTRONOMY!!! That surely is one of the best musical twist in music history in my opinion. Slow, quiet, somehow awaiting feeling before it describes perfectly our life!

This song means alot to me. Someone gave the lyrics to me right before I got married.

The ruined their own song by putting that sickening lead guitar along with the singing of the word “Astronomy…a star”.

just a masterpiece..
