my freind i dont know if you know but the Gravity model is not proven out by observation….that is why we have to keep on creating new explantions like Dark matter and Dark energy to componsate for the lack of evidence of mass in regards to the big bang /gravity model……The Electric/Plasma model has born the corect fruits of explanation for over 1oo years now..without the need to Hypothosise new “stuff” just to keep a idea alive.

Darwin was aware of much information supportive of catastrophic events, but chose to ignore it for the most part. He even mentioned some of it in The Origin of The Species, like a criminal leaving clues behind him.

It’s funny how people can hold contradictory ideas in mind, and carry on regardless!

Already now we have empirical evidence which exactly contradicts the ‘theories’ made by Velikovsky. We can blow them out of the water. Also already established fundamental laws are violated by his theories & his methodology was flawed beyond reason.

We are to overtrow everything that works because of some mythology+speculation?

anyhoo I kind of agree with the sentiments of the video and think that the treatment of velikovky shows how paradigm of science reeks of fundamentalism, self interest and self perpetuation. I consider this to be the death of human intelligence and death of the quest for truth.

Darwin did not base his theories on this list… these are things that have been shown to support Darwinism over time, just like Velikovsky’s theories and predictions have been and will be quantified. In fact Darwin was inspired by watching ants… sure beats Mythology.

Last time I checked

the geological column, geology, the fossil record, Atavisms, ERVs, Embryology, paleontology, comparative genetics, transmission and population genetics, comparative anatomy, comparative zoology…etc were all froms of physical evidence.

But if you think mythology is a more valuable scoure for evidence be my guest. Just don’t expect the courts to apply your ridicously low standards of proof.

one concrete fact which surly can not be disputed is velikovskys basic premis of catastrophism which since shumaker levi is surly beyond any reasonable doubt. the idea was however dismissed as ludicrouse at the time it is however verifiable just by counting the cr4aters on the moon.

Velikovski is “the bomb”. Catastrophism is the only viable “anti-darwinist” theory. Carl Sagan contributed to the silencing on Velikovski back in the day cuz if they gave it creedence, all their evolutionary theories would have to be revised. Shame on you Sagan the Pagan!

I also urge people to scrutinize the evidence. The mainstream made the equally vague predition that venus would be around about the same temperature as Earth. Their prediction, while vague, was still way out.

I urge everyone watching this video to do a little research on this Velikovsky fellow. All of his so called predictions were so incredibly vague that a few were destined to be accidentally correct. Take for example the temperature of Venus. He predicted it would be hot. His reasoning? Because it was ejected from Jupiter. How hot? No temperature range, no description of the mechanism, just that it would be hot. This type of prediction comes from the horoscope, not from intelligent thought.
