lockergnome asked:

http://geeks.pirillo.com – http://live.pirillo.com – You ever wonder what would happen if two planets got too close to each other? Or what if one of the planets in our solar system decided to spin out of control towards earth? Well now you can! Bwana did a review of Universe Sandbox for us, and loved it. http://chris.pirillo.com

It is, indeed, astronomy. And there is no perpetually dark side of the moon – a moon day is about 28 days. There is, however, a perpetually unseen side of the mmon from Earth, as the same side of the moon always faces the Earth. The moon’s orbit around Earth is identical to it’s spin on it’s axis – and this fellow’s sound effects are getting annoying.

He keeps saying astrology… Chris, you gotta have this fixed! If we cared about astrology we would not be into Science and Technology.

Celestia is actually my favorite. I was so into the software that I programmed a installation package for all the setups (not just Celestia)!

I have the links to some great free astronomy planetarium programs. The best one I have seen for beginners is stellarium.

Their website says no mac support, even via virtualization. It works GREAT on vmware fusion. Looks pretty cool.
