@nehal0001 you should try to get a refractor between 80mm to 100mm of aperture……the 4mm eyepiece would give you a 175x magnification which to me is a lot for that scope…my advise is try to avoid it and get a 4.5 to 8 reflector or a 80mm to 100mm refractor… and buy a well known brand like orion celestron or meade

Good advice. No collimation (mirror alignment) issues to deal with with a refractor, it stays put. With a dodsonian, the mirrors will eventually need re-alignment and that is a big stumbling block for a beginner. Anyone who has ever tried to explain the alignment procedure knows this. The refractor he is showing is a high end model, there are really good less expensive ones available. Before you buy any telescope/mount make sure you do a lot of research on which best matches what you want.

Bad advice. Its better to start with a moderately sized dobsonian. Say 6″ for a beginner. They are still very manageable.

Sounded like reasonable advice for beginners to me, which part did you think was half-true, Spaceisneat?

who is this guy? The information he provides is not even half true at times…

By “plastic” eyepieces, do you mean plastic lenses?
Just a clarifying question
