If u want to attach ur camera directly to tube without eyepiece
u can use T ring and adapter which goes directly into
focuser. You can get either 1.25 or 2″ adapter depending
on focuser. If you want to project thru an eyepiece there
are also adapters which allow pics taken thru eyepiece.
Search the web for astrophoto accessories.

You will need an adapter that attached to the camera in place of a lens. The adapter would then slide right into the eyepiece holder of the telescope to mount the camera on the telescope. In effect the telescope becomes a giant telephoto lens for the camera. A shutter release cable or other remote control is also desirable. This type of camera is very good for photography through a telescope. Adapters are available from camera or telescope dealers.

You need an EOS t ring, and an eyepiece adaptor that threads in to the t ring, then slides in to the focuser. I prefer a 2″ adapter.

There is an enormous amount of published information on the subject. DSLR Astrophotography by Michael Covington is a good reference.

Michael Covington’s book, as mentioned above, is an excellent source of information.
Yahoo! has a group dedicated to Canon DSLR Astrophotography, and one of the moderators IS Michael Covington.
I joined this group a few months back, and have found it to be an invaluable resource… They can (and will) answer any questions you may have concerning astrophotography with your Canon DSLR.

I hope this helps you out!

***EDIT***

I use a Canon 350D myself…

Seems like we’ve got a lot of people here with Rebel XTs; I recently bought one myself. The one problem that no one has mentioned so far is that, if you get a T-ring and 1.25″ or 2″ adapter, you probably won’t be able to reach focus, because the backfocus on the Canon (or any DSLR or SLR for that matter) is much greater than any eyepiece, and few focusers on Newtonians are designed to handle this much travel. You’re probably going to need to replace the focuser with a low profile focuser, or even move the primary mirror up the tube, which may cause vignetting of the image. I plan to use mine on a Celestron 11″ SCT, which has great depth of focus, and should be able to handle it easily.

It so happens that you have one of the most popular cameras used for Astrophotography today!!
There is tons of info and accessories available for this camera on the internet.
There is even software available that lets you operate your camera from your laptop while taking Astro Images, along with just about anything else you can think of.
As soon as I can afford it, I plan to get one myself.
There are whole tutorials written for these rebel cameras.
Do a google search for “Astrophotography” and you will quickly find lots of links to forums, groups and sites devoted to this subject where very detailed info is available.
The short answer to your question is an emphatic YES!!!
